After a successful RETEM System project in Talladega County, Holly McCain, ALDOT Alexander City - Area Maintenance Engineer, had her eye on a bigger project with a small construction window. The project included 2 ditches in front of the Ranburne Bulldog Football Stadium. The existing ditches were lined with aggregate and rap that had eroded and looked unsightly. “I wanted to get this project completed prior football season and I wanted it to look good” shared Mrs. McCain.
The project was completed in 7-days with crews working 6-hour days; this included grading and placement of The RETEM System. The shortened day was due to the heat. While most RETEM System projects are not side formed, straight edges were requested due to the high visibility in the urban setting.
The low bidder on the project was Grout Inc.
