Georgia State Route-100, near Greenville required immediate attention after erosion was at the near vertical shoulders.  GDOT Thomaston District decided to do an emergency contract and specified The RETEM System. The RETEM System combines local ready mix with RETEM 3D Steel Grid.

“We had seen the benefits of The RETEM System on other projects and determined it was best suited for this project” shared Mark Gassett, MEI Consultant.

McCoy Grading was selected for the work and began the installation of the RETEM System on the west side of the roadway on Monday-February 24th. The east side of roadway completed the following day.

Schedule East Side

7:30AM to 9:30AM 1,800 SF of RETEM 3D Steel Grid installed.

10:45AM to 1:30PM 22.5 YD3 of ready-mix concrete placed.

Southern Ready Mix provided the 4” slump concrete which was discharged from the truck flume directly into the RETEM 3D Steel Grid. The RETEM 3D Steel Grid was anchored into place with rebar anchors.

“We were impressed with the product and its ability to hold the concrete in place on such a steep slope. We were also impressed with how quickly we were able to complete the project
